How to clean a link
- Paste a link. One link, a list, or a whole message — every link in it gets cleaned.
- The tracking comes off. Link Cleaner strips parameters like

What a link cleaner removes
Only parameters we know are tracking, and only on the sites where we know what they do. On YouTube
t is your timestamp, so it stays; on X it's a share token, so it goes.

Clean YouTube links (remove si=)
When you copy a link with YouTube's Share button, it adds ?si=: a share ID that can tell YouTube
who shared the link. Link Cleaner removes si, pp and feature, and keeps
the video ID, the playlist and the t timestamp, so the video still starts where you meant.

Clean Instagram links (igsh)
Instagram's Copy link adds ?igsh= (older links use igshid), a share ID tied to the
account that shared the post. Strip it and the reel or post opens exactly the same.

Clean TikTok links
TikTok links copied from the app or the website can carry _t, _r,
is_from_webapp, sender_device and more. Link Cleaner removes all of them.

Short vm.tiktok.com links are different: the code is created for that one share, and its real
address only appears when you open it. Open it once, copy the full link from your browser, and clean that.
Amazon link shortener: clean Amazon links
Amazon product links run to hundreds of characters: the product name, a /ref= path, your search
words and tracking IDs. Link Cleaner shortens any product link to /dp/ plus the product code, the
shortest link that still opens the same product, on any Amazon country site.

Frequently asked questions
Is this link cleaner safe to use?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser: the links you paste are never sent to a server, and the page is set up so it can't send them anywhere. Nothing is saved after you close the tab.
Will the cleaned link still work?
Yes. Link Cleaner only removes parameters known to be tracking, and only on the sites where we know what they do. The parts that make a link work, like a video ID, a timestamp or a search term, stay.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It's a web page, so it works in Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet or any other browser. On your phone, tap Share on a cleaned link to send it straight to another app.
Can it clean short links like vm.tiktok.com or a.co?
Not on its own. A short link only reveals where it goes when you open it, and Link Cleaner never contacts other sites. Open the short link once, copy the full address from your browser, and paste that here instead.
What is a URL cleaner or link sanitizer?
A tool that strips tracking parameters from a link: the utm_source, fbclid, si or igsh parts added after the question mark. You get the same page with a shorter, more private link.
Why do apps add tracking to links?
To measure sharing: who shared a link, from which app, and who opened it. Ad platforms use the same parameters to credit clicks to their campaigns.
